Exciting refurbishment plans have been announced for two of our housing schemes, the Albert Weedall Centre in Erdington and Queen Mother Gardens in Harborne.
Over the next few months, we will be working with architects and other professionals to develop options on how we can remodel the communal areas at the housing schemes to provide more attractive and useful space.
They will be looking at all the sheltered housing communal spaces, not only the sitting and dining areas but also the kitchens, laundry rooms, and garden space.
We will also be reviewing the services that we can offer at each scheme, including replacing the current care call system, to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our current tenants as well as those of the future.
Work will begin at the Albert Weedall Centre in the Spring of 2020, which will also incorporate our Beech House House Care Home which is attached to this service.
This accommodation is for people who are 55+ with sight loss. It is self-contained, safe accommodation with on-site support available. We currently have newly refurbished apartments available to rent.
